Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar became consul in 61BC.Before he was consul he was praetor and pontifex maximus.During his time of beginning a consul he was governor of Gaul for 5 years.In 58BC he began conquering Gaul and in 52BC he had conquered much of Gaul.Caesar invaded Rome and conquered it and was sole ruler.He controlled the army and government and became dictator for life in 44BC.He wanted to be called king and no one could bear it so on march 15th 44BC as he entered the senate they stabbed him 33 times with daggers.He was dead at age 55.

Diocletian

Diocletian became emperor in 284AD.Before he became emperor he was a soldier and general, and was appointed emperor by his troops.Under his rule the Roman defences were made stronger.In 286AD he split the empire in half and ruled the western side while his co-emperor ruled the eastern side, he appointed two junior colleagues named Galerius and Constinius two years later and started tetrarchy.In 303AD he banned Christianity because they wouldn't follow one of his rules.He gave up his rule in 305AD got Maximian to also give up power and the two juniors became the co-emperors.
