Peisistratus
Peisistratus came into power in 546BC.He made athens into a beautiful city and he built many buildings.The time under his rule was a great time for athens and he brought the first silver coins to athens.He died in 527BC and was succeded by his two sons Hippias and Hipparchus.
Cleisthenes
Cleisthenes came into power in 510BC and was then defeated by Isagoras.Cleisthenes came back into power in 508BC.Cleisthenes divided attica(the area that athens is in) into 10 tribes, and each tribe would use a system to elect 50 citizens by lot. This would make a council of 500 members.He also gave new rights to the assembly.
One of his other contibutions was a new system of getting rid of unlike politicians.Each person would write the name of the person that they wanted to ban on a peice of potery.There had to be at least 6000 votes and if there were then the person with the most votes had to leave within 10 days and stay out for 10 years, but could then could come back.Cleisthenes death is not known.

Themistocles
Themosticles was elected eponynous archon in 493BC.He convinced the athenians at the assembly to use the silver from the mine to build a new fleet of ships, which helped them defeat persia in the second persian war.He was ostracised in 472/1BC, and he died in 459BC, probably of natural causes.
Pericles
Pericles came into power around 461BC and was elected military archon from 443BC until his death.During his reign he had the Parthenon built and was very involved in it's building.In 431BC Sparta declared war on Athens and began the Peleponisian war.Pericles died in 429BC of the plague.
